Brent Moloney aka ‘Beamer’ idolised the Demons as a child.
After coming across from Geelong at the end of 2004 he was living a lifelong dream of representing the club.
He became an integral part of the midfield setup, immediately stamping his authority on the side. Brought into the leadership group, Moloney was beginning to flourish in tandem with ruckman Mark Jamar, the latter receiving an All-Australian for the work he conducted with the midfielder.
But despite Moloney’s strong form, he didn’t have any control over decisions made by the club. When Mark Neeld replaced Dean Bailey his world turned upside down with the Demons.
Naughtsie, Benny, Marca and Toff spent 45 raw minutes with Beamer learning about his passion for the club and why Neeld damaged his Melbourne career, which saw him depart for Brisbane in circumstances he wished were different.
